Dar Calaa, private riad in the Kasbah, luxury and heated pool

Dar Calaa is a carefully renovated Kasbah riad where traditional architecture, carved white walls, arcades, wrought-iron balustrades and cedar doors, meets today's comfort. The patio, under an opening glass roof, holds a heated green zellige pool edged with green velvet banquettes and black-and-white striped cushions. The house is entirely private and all its spaces are yours.

The spaces

On the ground floor, a lounge with velvet banquettes around the pool, a small tadelakt TV lounge, a solid-wood dining room under lanterns and a fully equipped light-wood kitchen. Five suites with cream and ochre walls, queen beds with beige or terracotta bedspreads, framed portraits, lit niches, leather armchairs, each with air conditioning, heating and a private bathroom in terracotta tadelakt, stone or coloured zellige basins, walk-in shower, soaps and linen provided. Workspace, free Wi-Fi throughout the house.

Outside

The heated patio pool, heated on request with 48 hours' notice, running from 8 am to 2 pm. On the roof, a terrace shaded by reed screens and planted with cacti and olive trees, loungers, leather poufs, a lounge under string lights for dinner after dark, views of the Koutoubia and the Medina roofs.

The service

Complimentary daily breakfast, several menus to choose from. Assia, the housekeeper, is present every day. Lunch from €15 and dinner from €20 per person with 24 hours' notice. Laundry, paid airport transfer, excursions on request through our concierge.

Around

Kasbah, Medina, a few minutes on foot from the Saadian Tombs, El Badi Palace, the souks and Jemaa el-Fna. Access by a pedestrian derb, taxis nearby.
